Dermafix is a high-efficiency permanent pothole repair product in cold mix form. Unlike in numerous conventional cold mix products available in the market today, Dermafix main characteristics are its high adhesion power, hydro-repellence and long-term flexibility on the road (aging resistance).

Dermafix provides several innovative advantages for the user such as no need for binding coats or heavy rollers to compact the patch area and the possibility of doing repairs in very cold climates or under rain conditions, even when the pothole is full of water. It may also be used for repairing potholes or large cracks on concrete pavements providing permanent binding.

Dermafix is a liquid form product, which is cold mixed with regular sand and gravel or adequate aggregate. The liquid form product technology was based on the same principles of the Hot-Melt technology (Dermasfalt) and the result is a product that will maintain its original properties on the road for years without cracking, chipping or losing adherence due to the degrading action of the weather.

Potholes repaired with Dermafix on heavily cracked deteriorating asphalt pavements last longer than the surrounding pavement. Simplicity and speed are some of the operational advantages using Dermafix.

Dermafix WB is a new waterborne version of the product, especially formulated to be applied as an alternative wearing surface material on paving high traffic steel pedestrian walkways and light vehicles traffic steel bridge decks, platforms and ramps.

This version of Dermafix provides low cost and easy operational advantages, it can be prepared in a regular concrete mixer and applied by hand or using vibrating leveling equipment for concrete finishing.

The final thickness of Dermafix WB employed as a wearing surface material on metal decks averages 5 to 8 mm and must be allowed to cure for 48 hours before opening to traffic. It has also been used to repair small areas on steel bridge deck pavements which show bare metal exposed to the traffic with great success as a patching material.
