Keracel is an innovative product developed to increase refractory lifetime and performance in steel manufacturing furnaces. The product works as an impregnant coating material, which is applied on the surface of the refractory.

Keracel performs high adherence to acid, neutral, or alkaline-type refractory. The sintered coat of Keracel is highly resistant to abrasion and chemically inert to melted metal alloy and slag.

Keracel is presented as a two-pack product containing reactive organic and inorganic ingredients, one of the components is solid and the other is liquid, they must be mixed together immediately prior to installation on the new refractory surface.
After the components are mixed together the paste-form like product is applied to the surface of the refractory allowing an average thickness of 12 to 15 mil, instantly impregnating, reacting, and forming a ceramic protective barrier of superior resistance and properties.

The product has been engineered to protect refractory in general providing lifetime increases of up to 500% in many cases, especially when applied to critical areas. Savings include also a reduction in time and labor spent to change or repair unprotected refractories, resulting in increased productivity.
